Testing out a newly purchased Acratech panoramic head alongside a 6-stop ND filter from Lee Filters during a family holiday to the Shetland Islands, which are located to the north of Scotland. The approaching cloud burst and totally soaked us not long after. (A 6-stop ND filter is much better suited to landscape photography at dawn or dusk but on this occasion it allowed me use an exposure of 0.4 seconds, which pleasingly blurred the waves just slightly).
Mountain landscapes - Chamonix Mont-Blanc

Chamonix is a busy mountain town nestled beneath two ridges of high alpine peaks in France, including Mont Blanc, Aiguilles du Dru (Les Drus), Dent du Géant and Aiguille Chardonnet. A mecca for mountain sports such as climbing and mountaineering, trekking and paragliding, it is popular also with visitors seeking out the spectacular views. I’ve been blessed with glorious sunshine when I’ve visited Chamonix, either working - on a trail or mountain running photo shoot - or spending more leisurely time with my wife trekking between alpine refuges and rewarding ourselves with fresh blackberry and apple tart, washed down with copious amounts of tea and coffee. Whatever the purpose, Chamonix is a classic location to visit in the French Alps - a great place to spend time and enjoy the experience and the views amongst the mountains.

Mountain bike endurance athlete Naomi Freireich has been UK 24-Hour Mountain Biking champion (2017, 2018 and 2019), European 24-Hour Mountain Biking champion (2018) and a Solo Female winner of the Strathpuffer 24-hour Winter Mountain Bike Endurance Event. More recently, she was a finisher of the challenging Highland Trail 550 (a mountain bike time trial in Scotland that, unsurprisingly, covers 550 miles). Originally a Gore-sponsored athlete, she’s now partnered with Albion.

Hazel Macleod - Outdoor swimming

Hazel Macleod is a former Scottish national age-group swimming champion, who won the 200m breast stroke title as a 13-year old and competed at national level in rowing before she explored the sport of triathlon, where she won both Sprint and Standard distance national titles. Progressing towards elite status, Hazel was selected as a reserve for the Scottish Commonwealth Games Triathlon Team and she has competed in the Paralympics as a guide triathlete, for Alison Peasgood and Melissa Reid, winning a Silver medal with Alison in Rio.
