Mountain landscape - Scotland

Beinn Eighe 5.40am
The rocky ridge between Spidean Coire nan Clach on Beinn Eighe towards Coinneach Mhor and Ruadh-stac Mòr in the North-West Highlands of Scotland. One of Torridon’s ‘big three’, along with Liathach on the left hand-side and Beinn Alligin behind, Beinn Eighe is a fine mountain I have climbed many, many times (mostly due to being a photographer for the Celtman Extreme Scottish Triathlon, the 42km running leg of which goes over both Beinn Eighe Munros). On this occasion, instead of chasing athletes along the ridge, I spent the night on top of Spidean Coire nan Clach, shooting this photograph at 5.30am well after the sun had come up. (Dawn unfortunately didn’t have absolutely the best light I’d have liked for this direction - which is always a goal - but I was able to come back a few weeks later and it was better).
