Mountain landscape - Scotland

Beinn Eighe 4.35am

Beinn Eighe in Torridon I’ll admit I’d somewhat put myself off from a photography perspective, having photographed it many times for the Celtman Triathlon, the 42km mountain running leg of which goes over its two Munros - Spidean Coire nan Clach and Ruadh-stac Mòr. This is a silly position to take though as it’s it’s an amazing hill - one of the best views in Scotland, I’d propose - and there’s always the weather and light to add interest and variation. A re-location from Edinburgh to Inverness had made Beinn Eighe and the other Torridon hills a lot more accessible and I’d started to think about how else I could photograph them. The primary goal of this trip was to capture a panoramic image of the whole Beinn Eighe ridge that competitors in the Celtman would enjoy and remind them of their route to a blue T-shirt. I made two ascents over two weeks with this second one being worth it, as it had much better light at sunrise.
