POC - Ventral Air MIPS cycling helmet

POC (which I’m led to understand stands for Piece of Cake) is a Swedish company who describe themselves as ‘a safety and performance pioneer on a global mission: [to] protect lives and reduce the consequences of accidents for athletes and anyone inspired to be one’.

One of POC’s key gravel riding products is the Ventral Air MIPS cycling helmet, as worn here by Scottish endurance athlete Donnie Campbell during a gravel cycling photo shoot near Inverness in Scotland. (MIPS stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, which is an industry-adopted safety feature the manufacturer describes as being designed to redirect rotational motion away from the head in the event of an impact and help reduce the risk of brain injury).
