Mountain landscape - Scotland

Lochaber skyline at dawn

I was camped next to the summit of Bidean nam Bian in Glen Coe in the West Highlands of Scotland when I took this photograph. It only took me 2 minutes to unzip my sleeping bag and exit my tent before I was up ready to take photographs. It was gloomy as I did so but still fairly light - the sun doesn’t set for very long in July in Scotland - but not long after I’d set up, at 2.54am, these intense colours appeared in the sky and I had this fine view looking north over Aonach Eagach (notched ridge) and the Devil’s Ridge in the Mamores towards the Lochaber 4,000ft+ Munros (Ben Nevis, Càrn Mòr Dearg, Aonach Mor and Aonach Beag).
