Beinn Laoigh summit view
An early morning view from the rocky summit of Beinn Laoigh (or Ben Lui) as a cloud inversion fills Glen Cononish in the West Highlands of Scotland.
I was in Munro bagging mode on this trip, rather than photography, with a goal to tick off Beinn a' Chlèibh, which is directly behind me in this image and which I hadn’t done when I’d previously summited Ben Laoigh back in 2001, for reasons I can’t quite recall). I also needed to climb Beinn Dubhcraig on the right-hand side, which probably makes it obvious that my past Munro choices haven’t been based around a full compleation, but I’d only 28 to go at this point so I decided to join the two together with a camp on Ben Laoigh, a fine peak which has great views from its summit, being the highest point for a long way around.
(For the record, I found there’s just one spot on the summit of Beinnn Laoigh to pitch a tent, and just a one-person tent at that).
