Aletsch Glacier, Swizterland

The longest glacier in Europe from the highest train station in Europe. Not shown is all the visitors beside me (including a choir from India who were singing at the top of their voice). I’d normally avoid such busy places - preferring the solitude of an overnight bivvy or camp - but my wife and I were staying in Wengen and a trip to the Jungfraujoch, on a train which goes through the Eiger, was not one to miss. This was our second visit to the glacier, after we’d exited the station to white mist and nil visibility a few days prior. It was a very expensive few days overall but it was definitely worth it.
